Our one day business fair provides a venue for children to sell to the public, and our Young Boss Academy is kidpreneur business lab teaching new skills to help young entrepreneurs grow their business.

What ages can participate?
Children from age 7 to 18 can participate in the Elgin Children's Business Fair. They must be age 7 - 18 the day of the fair.
When is the next fair?
The next fair will be held Saturday, Oct 10, 2026 in Elgin.
Do I have to have an established business to participate?
No. You do not have to have a formed business to participate. You can launch your new business idea at the fair. If you need help bring your idea to life, our Young Boss Academy: Kidpreneur Lab Workshops series will help young entrepreneurs learn how to run and build a business.
What is the cost to participate in the fair?
Booth registration is free until March 2026. Half price, $12.50, from April to June 2026 and $25 from July to October 2026. Scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship email elgincbf@gmail.com with the subject "Scholarship Application."
Do I have to live in Elgin, TX to participate?
No. The Elgin Children's Business Fair is an event to highlight the spirit of entrepreneurship in Elgin and throughout Central Texas. Last year children from Austin, Cedar Park, Round Rock, and Pflugerville attended as well as children from Manor and Elgin. We welcome ambitious children from all over. If you are traveling out of town and looking to make a weekend trip, contact us. We can assist you with recommendations of where to stay. elgincbf@gmail.com
How many children can man the booth on the day of the fair?
Business partners and helpers are welcome. We ask to try to keep the participants to four.
Why are there Judges at the fair?
There is a lot of work that young entrepreneurs invest into their business. We have Judges to help showcase their work and to help practice business acumen. Many of our participants learn from their interviews with the Judges how to better their business.
How can I apply to become a Judge
We have Judges for each age group. To apply to become a judge simply email your request and bio and/or resume to elgincbf@gmail.com
How can I get involved in the fair or become a presenter at the next workshop?
We can use volunteers to assist with planning, marketing, and the day of the event. Sponsors are also welcome. We have sponsorship opportunities for small business to large corporations. Individual and families can sponsor as well by supporting a young entrepreneur in the cost of registration for the fair or workshop series.
